Prayer is vital to the Christian life. You could say it is the Christian life. As Catholics we know we are supposed to pray. We get that, but for many of us prayer is something we have tried, but it just doesn’t seem to work. Sadly, may of us have accepted that prayer is sort of like sending post cards to a celebrity, with very little hope of a reply. It isn’t supposed to be like that. It doesn’t have to belike that. Our prayer should be a vital lifeline to the Father who loves us. Why does it seem so dry?
